The Student Guide
It has always seemed to me that there are two very different type of student.
The first has no desire to learn, doesn’t go to
lectures, couldn’t tell you the sex let alone the name of any tutors,
and is really only interested in going out on the town, getting as many
down the neck as possible and becoming as one with the newt.
The second shows a great desire to learn,
attends all of their lectures, could list name, address and shoe size
of every tutor on campus, and is really only interested in going out on
the town, getting as many down the neck as possible, and becoming as
one with the newt.
With such diversity among the student population
you will understand how difficult it has been to produce an exhaustive
and comprehensive guide to student life. A dedicated team has
studiously researched all of the entertainment, sports, nightlife
venues, pubs and ticket booking facilities to ensure you have the
definitive access-all-areas listings that will help you ease your way
to those first class honours, or at the very least a Bishop Desmond!
We have added a Big Interview section to keep
you up-to-date on the latest campus news, in case you bump into the
Dean of Admissions while down the local, and our discounts section
should help keep the parental begging letters down to 2 or 3 per term.
There are even some sections which offer learning opportunities should
the need arise.
Having an
NUS Extra card means you can make the most of getting out and about in Bristol. Enjoy reduced rates on travel to and from the city, shopping, and most importantly, food and drink! Bristol has plenty to offer students, from a buzzing harbour to plenty of pubs and clubs in the city centre. Bristol is a unique place where you can explore coast, countryside and city all in one.
However, before you start this particular study
course, may I take the opportunity to remind each student out there,
that you represent the hopes, dreams and future of this great nation,
and that vital careers in engineering, science, corporate finance,
politics, medicine, law, and, for Arts students, call centres await
you. As such you have a responsibility not just to us but to
yourselves… so whichever activities you choose to sample from our list
remember the golden rule to a happy and secure future…
